Blog: what’s new, and questions
Every update to the RetroGM games, newest first.
What's new
- Two more Arcade games: Sky Ace, a vertical-scrolling plane shooter with five stages and a boss at the end of each, and Blast Maze, a bomb maze battle against up to three computer rivals. Keyboard, touch or gamepad.
- Racing Manager: run the team: sign drivers and staff, set the car's development focus and spending under the cost cap, keep the books, chase the sponsors' target, read the history and records, and use God Mode to edit any driver or car.
- Racing Manager beta: run an open-wheel team on 22 circuits or a stock car team through 36 races and a playoff. Pick the tyre strategy, then watch the race live on the track map and call your drivers in from the pit wall: safety cars, cautions, stages, the draft and rain.
- God Mode in Soccer Manager: edit any player or club, move players between clubs, create new ones and take over any club. Plus a new home for the Arcade and this blog.
- Boxing joins the Arcade: six rivals between you and the world title. Read each one's tell, dodge or block at the last instant, counter while he is open and save your stars for the special punch. Keyboard, touch buttons or gamepad.
- RetroGM Arcade opens with Penalty Kick: a retro penalty shootout in pixel art. Aim and power your kicks, dive to save, and win an 8-team tournament on Rookie, Pro or Legend. Keyboard, touch or gamepad.
- League editor and expansion drafts now in Baseball and Hockey too (God Mode): realign leagues and divisions, or add teams that pick from the unprotected players (15 per team in baseball; 7 forwards, 3 defensemen and a goalie in hockey). Any league size gets a full, balanced schedule.
- Achievements in Basketball, Football, Baseball and Hockey: 14 goals from your first title to a dynasty, Moneyball, a small-market champion or a worst-to-first run, kept for every league on your device.
- League editor and expansion drafts in Basketball and Football (God Mode): move teams between conferences and divisions, or add new teams that build their rosters in an expansion draft from the players the other teams leave unprotected.
- All-Star weekend and the Pro Bowl: in Basketball, a live fan vote, the three-point and dunk contests and the East-West game with its MVP; in Football, a live Pro Bowl vote and the game the week before the final, with an offensive and a defensive MVP.
- Hockey beta: an 82-game season with a live play-by-play sim (power plays, the goalie pull, 3-on-3 overtime and shootouts), four lines and special teams, the hard cap with entry-level deals, qualifying offers and buyouts, the draft lottery, a 16-team playoff, awards, records and the Hall of Fame.
- Baseball beta: a 162-game season with a pitch-by-pitch sim and live games, lineups against right- and left-handed starters, the rotation and the bullpen, the farm, the mid-season draft, arbitration and free agency, the luxury tax, a 12-team postseason, awards, records and the Hall of Fame.
- The GM's desk in Basketball and Football: other teams now call with trade offers during the season, plus upcoming free agents and a watch list that tells you when a player you follow moves.
- Records and Hall of Fame in Basketball and Football: single game, season and career records for the league and every franchise, updated live, and a Hall of Fame watch for active players.
- Team stats, power rankings and game logs, and the box score of every game of the season.
- League memory: careers split by team after mid-season trades, franchise histories and the full transaction log.
- Football beta: trades with draft picks, awards night and All-Pro teams, finances and sponsors, God Mode and league files.
